Break Free Candy - Food Cost Model and Analysis

Break Free Candy is a vegan candy company dedicated to creating ethical, allergen-friendly treats while building real opportunities for marginalized communities. We craft handmade candy bars that are dairy-free, egg-free, plant-based, and created with love. Our mission goes beyond sweets — we are committed to saving animals and creating as many jobs as possible for formerly incarcerated individuals, queer folks, and others who are often overlooked in traditional hiring spaces.

Project Description

Students on this project will engage in an analysis of food-cost, and will build a model that calculates exactly how much each product costs to make. This model will factor in ingredients, packaging and paper goods, labor, overhead, and other expenses so we can determine accurate cost per bar, maintain margins, and plan for sustainable long-term growth.
