Solutions360 - AI-First Pricing & Packaging Strategy

Overview

Solutions360 is the market-leading ERP and business management platform for systems integrators in the commercial audiovisual, security, fire and life safety industries. These companies design, install and service complex physical systems across thousands of job sites. Solutions360 manages all aspects of these businesses including sales opportunities and quoting, inventory management, project management and accounting. The company received a majority private equity investment in 2025 and is now transitioning from a bootstrapped business to a high-growth vertical SaaS business. We are now in the midst of a multi-year transformation: redesigning core user experiences, building mobile-first workflows and embedding AI deeply into the product.

Project Description

Students on this project will work directly with the company's CEO, Head of Finance and AI team to capture information regarding the company's current pricing model and AI roadmap.  The student team will then benchmark various ERP or seat-based SaaS providers (such as: Acumatica, Rillet, Netsuite, Salesforce), and will model their pricing approaches with tradeoffs, and identify downstream implications across the business (sales commissions, product roadmap, retention implications, adoption / friction risks).   The model delivered will be leveraged by Solutions360's AI-driven workflows that automate tasks historically performed by human employees at our customers. Some examples are dispatching, scheduling, documentation, follow-ups, quoting, and operational decision-making. While these automations have the potential to create significant value, they break our current seat-based pricing model: as customers become more efficient, they naturally reduce headcount and downgrade licenses, even as the platform becomes more mission-critical.

The student team will deliver a future-proof pricing and packaging model for a vertical SaaS company in an AI-first world, which aligns revenue with value creation rather than employee counts.  The goal is to explore and recommend a pricing options that could include consumption-based pricing, outcome-based pricing, hybrid seat + usage frameworks, subscriptions to AI-agents or other mechanisms that monetize automation, throughput, or business impact.
