Digital Marketing and Communications Intern
This internship gives a student or recent graduate supervised, portfolio-building experience in mission-centered digital marketing, communications, research, and business administration. The intern will support the Senior Executive Assistant and collaborate with approved organizational leaders to increase awareness of serious-illness care, end-of-life education, advance care planning, events, and community resources. The role is designed for approximately 5–10 hours per week and combines defined business deliverables with documented educational milestones.
Position Summary
The Digital Marketing and Communications Intern will help plan, create, organize, publish, measure, and improve approved marketing communications. The intern will assist with social media accounts, YouTube, company websites, email and event promotion, market research, and administrative coordination. Work will primarily support the Internship Supervisor and will be completed through weekly priorities, written deadlines, review checkpoints, and an academic learning plan.
Core Responsibilities
Social media management
- Maintain an approved editorial calendar for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other assigned channels.
- Draft platform-specific captions, calls to action, hashtags, accessibility-minded alt text, and basic community engagement recommendations.
- Schedule or publish only after receiving the required approval; monitor comments and messages and escalate clinical, legal, crisis, complaint, or patient-specific matters.
- Track performance and identify patterns in reach, engagement, saves, shares, clicks, inquiries, and registrations.
Content creation
- Develop branded social graphics, short-form video concepts, carousels, event announcements, email copy, website updates, blog outlines, flyers, and presentation-support assets.
- Assist with YouTube titles, descriptions, chapters, thumbnails, playlists, captions, Shorts concepts, and content repurposing from approved recordings.
- Adapt one approved source into multiple formats without changing clinical meaning. Maintain a source and approval record for health-related claims.
- Organize a reusable content library by brand, audience, campaign, status, and usage rights.
Campaign and event marketing
- Support promotion for The Clarity Path, expos, webinars, community programs, educational events, speaking engagements, and referral campaigns.
- Build campaign workbacks with owners, deadlines, assets, links, QR codes, coupon or referral codes, and launch checkpoints.
- Assist with registration communications, reminders, partner toolkits, post-event follow-up, surveys, testimonials, and performance summaries.
Market research
- Research audience questions, search behavior, relevant organizations, referral partners, competitors, content trends, podcasts, events, and partnership opportunities.
- Maintain structured research lists with source links, dates, geographic focus, contact status, and recommended next action.
- Prepare concise findings that distinguish verified facts, observations, and recommendations.
Website and digital channel support
- Review assigned web pages for outdated dates, broken links, inconsistent calls to action, unclear copy, and basic accessibility or search optimization opportunities.
- Draft updates for organizational review; do not independently publish clinical, legal, pricing, or policy content.
- Support basic search and AI-discovery content by developing audience-centered questions, page topics, metadata drafts, and internal-link recommendations.
Administrative support to the supervisor
- Maintain the marketing calendar, task tracker, asset inventory, approval queue, meeting notes, and weekly status report.
- Prepare agendas, organize campaign files, document decisions, follow up on assigned tasks, and flag approaching deadlines.
- Support data entry, contact research, event logistics, and other communications-related coordination within the learning plan.
