Civil, Electrical/Electronic, General, Industrial, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineer

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and IMF (PHNSY & IMF), the largest industrial employer in the State of Hawaii with approximately 6,000 civilian and military employees, is in the business of repairing and modernizing naval ships and submarines.

Our engineers, from a variety of disciplines, are involved in the planning and supervision of the highly challenging work of providing technical guidance through written work procedures and on-the-job direction of the workforce.

On a day-to-day basis, our engineers spend their time working on-board submarines or surface ships and working in an office setting.  Major tasks involve the writing of technical work procedures, providing job oversight and technical resolution when needed.

Within the PHNSY & IMF's test organization, responsibilities include coordinating work, and ensuring equipment/plant/personnel safety. The test engineers are also responsible for facilitating/directing our test program which involve equipment and system plant technical knowledge (we provide the training), and working with personnel within the shipyard organization, outside agencies and equipment operators and their supervision (ships force-active duty personnel), to verify that equipment and systems that had been affected by shipyard work operates as designed.

PHNSY & IMF is looking for energetic self-motivated engineers to join the select group of men and women in our various Engineering Departments. Work is in an industrial environment, so those who desire a combination of desk and field work are desirable. As an entry-level engineer, the minimum requirements are a B.S. in engineering degree, US Citizenship, ability to pass a medical exam and obtain/maintain a security clearance.

We offer competitive pay, generous vacation benefits, paid overtime, excellent retirement system and federal health benefits.
