Advanced Netcom Network Research and Development
The Ford Advanced network communications group is responsible for all the onboard communications technologies in the vehicle. This includes Automotive standards like LIN, CAN FD Automotive Ethernet and LVDS links. This group’s responsibilities include network definition tools, software drivers and the high frequency technology required to get the physical signals from one module to another. The specifications developed by this group are migrated to the Product Development teams for individual vehicle implementations.
General Job Description including but not limited to:
- Design Processes and tools for future Network Development including Automated Vehicles.
- Evaluate networking tools needed to set up future protocols.
- Investigate tools that can evaluate the performance of data flows across multiple networks and gateways including high speed data and sensor access.
- Possibly move into the model based code development for Netcom driver setup.
- Develop the processes that will be required for building interactive systems that are distributed across multiple networks.
- Investigate tools that can evaluate the performance of data flows across multiple networks and gateways.
- Work closely with EESE during the GTDS hand-off of developed processes, methods and tools
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in EE Engineering
- 3 years’ Experience in Automotive Networking Tools and Embedded Software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Ethernet protocols and or Switch services would be desirable
- Good communication/writing skills
- Self Starter - willing to take on an assignment with general goals and work in a team environment to complete it.
