Job Description:
Design, develop and test electronic components for high frequency sonar systems.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Design, and development of analog and digital electronics for low power receiver and high power transmit applications.  (40%)
Develop and review engineering documentation including schematics, circuit card assemblies, and component test procedures. (25%)
Other related functions as assigned.
Integration, testing, and evaluation of sonar components in a lab environment and in the field (20%)
Procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of electronic circuit card assemblies. (15%)

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with related experience in digital electronics and firmware development or power electronics design for sonar or underwater component applications.  Experience with development and testing of electronic circuit card assemblies including schematic capture circuit design, and printed circuit board layout.  Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member with and without daily supervision, work several overlapping projects over a short period of time, ability to work within an environment with rapidly changing priorities, and effectively communicate with a diverse group of clients.  Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance. US citizenship. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the position.

Preferred Qualifications
One year related experience in development of firmware and circuitry for Intel FPGAs.  Experience developing switching power circuits for underwater actuator and/or sonar transmitter applications.  Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Salary Range
$69,500 - $80,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.

Working Conditions
Frequent use of computer workstation, telephones, manuals, paper and electronic drawings, and books.  Use of machine shop tools, over-head cranes, and laboratory test equipment.  Assembly of mechanical and electrical equipment, with assemblies reaching up to 100 pounds.  May work around electrical and mechanical hazards.
