Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist)
Working at the advanced journey level under the direction of the Environmental Program Manager I: Independently applies scientific methods and principles to identify environmental problems, develops mitigating courses of action, and conducts extremely complex and difficult scientific investigations on issues of major importance to the use of pesticide products in the State.
Assigned lead responsibility for implementing the Department of Pesticide Regulation’s (DPR’s) pesticide product emergency exemption from registration program.
Analyses and evaluates complex scientific and economic data on pesticide products containing new active ingredients or intended for a major new use as a part of a complex and environmentally sensitive statewide pesticide registration program, which protects the State’s natural resources and public health.
