Engineering Manager

Guardian Analytics is seeking a Manager/Sr. Manager Engineering.  
The position reports to Sr. Director Engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical lead and representative across all products in development
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of all product development
  • Monitor the progress of product development and adjust as necessary to ensure their successful completion
  • Determine resources, scheduling and tradeoffs to complete development on schedule
  • Work closely with all stakeholders including Product Management, Cloud Operations, Customer Support and Quality Assurance
  • Provide ongoing development progress to management using relevant reporting tools and dashboards
  • Ensure development and creation of CI/CID infrastructure
  • Drive best practices and adoption of advanced security and cloud-based capabilities
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in management role
  • Must have a strong technical skillset and analytical mind to understand the challenges with development and focus on addressing these challenges, reduce risk and deliver on time
  • Must have been a developer previously working on complex Cloud based applications
  • Must have understanding of Java, Python, Linux, REST API development and databases
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build diverse relationships and influence collaborative decision making
  • Should understand requirements gathering, scope definition, risk mitigation, and change management
  • Proven ability to take the product through all stages of development from concept to launch at scale
  • Developed products using Agile methodologies
  • BA/BS Degree in technical field
 
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Development experience with front end tools/frameworks (React, JS, etc.)
  • Experience deploying products on AWS
  • Should work well with cross functional teams on resource and work planning to ensure development goals are met
  • Work with appropriate team resources to drive requirements
  • Identify and effectively communicate team staffing requirements
  • Assist team with making appropriate commitments
  • Outstanding written/oral/presentation skills with ability to translate relevant, actionable information to be digestible by multiple audiences (project-level resources to executives)
  • Team player but with strong, resilient personality that will bring innovative ideas/perspective to the table and drive for results
