Managing Consultant (Project Management – Energy)

Responsibilities
  • Setup project management processes for execution of energy sector projects
  • Manage project worksheets (PWs) for obligated projects
  • Point person to help the program manager to coordinate and manage project worksheets
  • Stand up and support federal funding formulation process
  • Stand up and support execution pipeline capabilities
  • Track and report project worksheet status, issues and risks
  • Support Financial controller by sharing relevant information related to PWs
  • Invoice, purchase order and contract management.
  • Process improvement, including forecasting
  • Project Cost and scheduling baselines, including status reports        
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Science/Arts degree required, Master’s Science preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive Project Management experience 
  • PMP preferred 
  • Strong PM experience with a focus on daily operations. 
  • Extensive experience with complex scheduling budgeting and change management
  • Strong MS office, including advanced Excel 
  • Strong Project Management software, including MS Applications, Visio, preferred
Mental/Physical Requirements
  • Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently 
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
  • Travel required
  • Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
