Position: Consultant/Senior Consultant, Energy System Transformation

The Energy Consultant may be responsible for:
  • Supporting the assessment and development of business strategies, organizational structures and business processes for key energy-related organizations
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations of business processes, internal controls and compliance with NERC Reliability Standards 
  • Manage projects and client deliverables
  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations
  • Designing and implementing process improvement throughout power systems operations 
  • Supporting and improving processes to support compliance with the NERC Reliability Standards 
  • Performing data collection; spreadsheet creation and management; statistical and economic analyses; technology performance modeling
  • Conducting third party audits 
  • Interviewing business managers, subject matter experts, technology experts and public policy officials to support client projects
  • Developing final reports and client deliverables 
  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy market trends and energy-related technologies 

Qualifications:
·      Bachelors of Science or Masters in an engineering, science, business, information security, and/or economics discipline. Profiles combining engineering and business disciplines preferred 
·      2-3 years of experience as a consultant, including experience working directly with clients. 
·      understanding of the electric utility and power system 
·      Project coordination and support experience 
·      Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills 
·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·      Strong interpersonal skills
·      High degree of self-confidence and determination
·      Experience developing and using analytical models and simulations

Preferred qualifications:
·      Applicable license(s).
·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel and Access.
·      Familiarity with FERC regulatory practices
