INTERNSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTION
Finance/Accounting
Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village is seeking candidates for an individual with a desire to grow and gain experience at the intersection of sports and entertainment. This position will be located near the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH and will report to the CFO. The individual will be exposed to a variety of experiences related to the field of business with primary focus on accounting and finance. This position is an unpaid position and may be used by the individual to receive college credit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries, including creating supporting schedules and documentation
- Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
- Perform reconciliations for select balance sheet accounts
- Perform financial modeling and reporting, as needed
- Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Assist with documenting internal controls and procedures
- Review sales tax schedules and assist in the remittance of state and local taxes
- Opportunity to work on new projects and implement new ideas
- Other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Progression towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and collaborative approach to solving problems and achieving results
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applicable computer programs.
- Ability to work at full-time schedule, including possible entertainment events off-hours
