Services Department Relations Representative Paid Intern

PURPOSES
The Services Department Relations Representative (SDRR) Intern provides key administrative support to the Student Services Team and acts as an important link between BYU-Pathway Worldwide and BYU-Idaho. The Student Services Team is responsible for improving the student experience from the time students sign up for the BYU-PW program to the time they complete their program. There are a lot of “moving parts,” especially because of the close ties with the programs at BYU-Idaho. The SDRR is largely responsible for keeping this partnership with BYU-Idaho organized, professional, and effective.
The internship is a four-month, paid position located in Salt Lake City with no benefits and no stipend for housing. The salary is $13.50 per hour. Hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (40 hours/week).

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a professional public image for BYU-Pathway Worldwide and for the Student Services Team.
  • Provide administrative support to the Student Services Team.
  • Organize and maintain a record of important tasks, decisions, and confidential information.
  • Complete special projects for the Student Services Team.
  • Perform routine office duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, entering data, running errands, and scheduling rooms and appointments.
  • Write professional correspondence and communication.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with members of the BYU-Idaho staff on a regular basis.
  • Assist with agenda preparation, note taking, and tech support for meetings.
  • Receive, screen, and place phone calls.

QUALIFICATIONS
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
  • Desired Majors: Business, Communications, Humanities, Languages and Letters
  • Proficient data gathering and analysis skills
  • Excellent project organization and management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Sound judgement in decision making
  • Highly detail-oriented and mindful of others’ needs
  • Excellent time management and highly proactive
  • Strong ability to prioritize competing tasks, demands, and responsibilities
