Systems Administrator

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking an experienced systems administrator (5+ years) to support customer programs. Responsibilities will include designing, installing, configuring, administering, securing, and tuning Linux, Windows Server, and Windows Desktop operating systems, applications, services, and components in an enterprise environment and timely and efficient manner for satellite ground stations. The selected candidate must be able to respond, identify, and remediate any issues related to server availability or performance that affect program readiness and requirements. Must be willing to help prepare required system security reports. Some travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:
·   BS degree or equivalent in BIS, MIS, computer science, engineering, or related computer field
·  Experience with Windows Servers (2016 R2, 2008 R2)
·  Experience with Active Directory
·  Experience with Windows Server Update Services
·  Experience with Exchange
·  Experience with VMWare vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, NSX)
·  Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and general networking
·  Understanding of Information Systems security best practice and use of security tools and practice
·  Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solving
·  Able to apply knowledge to complex practical situations
·  Work well independently and as part of a team
·  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers
·  Willing to perform maintenance on systems outside of core business hours as required (Business often operates 24/7 and maintenance is performed during off-daytime hours)
·  Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
·  Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
·  Technical knowledge and/or certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure
·  Understanding and experience with security tools (Nessus, McAfee, SCAP and Splunk) is a significant advantage
·  Understanding of Linux Distributions and security best practices
·  Industry certifications (Security+, CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, CCNA, etc)
·  Strong work ethic
·  Ability to focus on results
·  Demonstrated reliability and follow through on commitments and assignments
·  Working knowledge of the Atlassian Tool set
