Supply Chain Intern
An exciting internship opportunity to work for MegaDiamond, A Schlumberger Company as a Supply Chain Intern. MegaDiamond is a global leader in PCD (PolyCrystalline Diamond) cutter development and high-volume production for Oil & Gas, Mining and Asphalt applications.
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Intern ensures items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Create PO as per Kanban signal and MIN-MAX and ensure POs are created promptly.
- PO management: follow up with supplier for PO acknowledgement, follow up on delivery and control past due <=5%.
- Manage supplier on time delivery performance and build a professional relationship with suppliers.
- Maintain procurement parameter accuracy: supplier, lead time, cost.
- Leads finance and Logistics staff in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies in timely manner.
- Process purchase requisition in timely manner.
- Interface with the local AP personnel to ensure that the entire procurement to pay (P2P) process is implemented fully and seamlessly at the local level.
- Ensures that the correct buy to pay channel (matrix) is consistently applied with regards to the use of P-Cards and PO’s.
- Using Lean principles and methods reviews planned orders, creates requisitions for purchased items and manages the approval process.
- Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders, with appropriate supporting documents, to Supplier.
- Prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports and provides visibility of other potential interruptions to internal customers.
- Immediate reporting supplier non-conformances with follow up actions until resolved. Process return to vendor if required.
- Ensure Adherence to Schlumberger approved Supplier agreements/contracts.
- Work with all relevant parties in the consolidation, reduction and rationalization of the local supplier base.
- Identifies opportunities and implements actions to continually reduce wasted time, money and resources for assigned tasks.
- Complies with all Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function.
- Intern may be assigned other duties in addition to or in lieu of those described above according to the needs of the location or Company.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled as a Senior pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Manufacturing or Engineering.
- This is a paid internship with the opportunity for full-time employment in Q3/Q4.
- Must be able to work at the following MegaDiamond Provo locations: 275 W 2230 N and 2185 Tracy Hall Parkway.
