Accounting Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform CPA Workpaper Reviews of Engineering Design Consultant's Audited Indirect Cost Rates to determine compliance with Federal and State laws/regulations and acceptability of rate(s) used by Consultants to invoice UDOT for overhead costs associated with a contract.
- Research and compilation of information from the UDOT Contract Management System and Financial Databases (Oracle based) for development of a UDOT Financial Screening Consultant Excel Database/File
- Research and compilation of information from the UDOT Contract Management System, internet research, and potential survey of UDOT Consultant population for development of Labor Rates to be used in the ICE process (Project Manager's Independent Cost Estimate)
The student will receive oversight and professional mentoring from the Auditor IV (responsible for the financial screening of all UDOT Consultants) and from the Consultant Services Manager. This oversight will include the following learning:
- Understanding of Consultant simple and complex financial statements
- Research and Identification of applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, and Utah Procurement Law and Rules
- Queries of UDOT mainframe and development of Excel databases
Skills needed:
Excel skills (pivot tables)
Ability to perform internet and governmental research
Part-time hours, flexible between these: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position pays between $13 - $17 per hour, depending on experience and education of candidate.
All work will be performed from the UDOT Calvin Rampton Complex, 4501 S Constitution Blvd, Taylorsville, UT 84129.
