ABOUT A.R.I.’S FOUNDER

A.R.I. was founded by Zack Ellison, CFA, CAIA, a banker, trader, and institutional investor turned entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Previously, Mr. Ellison worked for Deutsche Bank, Scotia Capital, Sun Life Investment Management, and Thomson Reuters, representing four of the leading global financial firms with a combined market value of $140 billion.  

With expertise in investing, trading, risk management, financial market structure, and financial technology, Mr. Ellison has successfully traded and invested billions of risk capital in his career. He is a frequent public speaker at financial innovation conferences where he presents his views on how companies need to innovate, adapt, and evolve in order to remain relevant and make financial markets more efficient and less risky.

Mr. Ellison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College while majoring in Economics. He holds an MBA with concentrations in Analytic Finance and Economics from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business along with an MS in Risk Management from New York University's Stern School of Business. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations, and Series 7 and Series 63 security licenses.


OVERVIEW: A.R.I. CAREER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM

·        The Applied Real Intelligence Career Accelerator Program (“A.R.I. CAP”) is a highly selective 10-week Summer Program designed to fast-track the careers of current undergraduates, MBA candidates, or recent graduates who aspire to be, or work with, entrepreneurs or venture capitalists. 

·        The program is administered by highly experienced business executives from the areas of investment management, banking, trading, risk management, technology, strategy, and business development.

·        A.R.I. CAP couples “The Chicago Approach” to education with A.R.I.’s proprietary skill development modules, mentoring, networking, and hands-on experience working on valuable projects in a growing business.

·        A.R.I. CAP integrates three core learning disciplines: 1) Innovation & Technology; 2) Investing & Finance; 3) Marketing & Sales. Each of these disciplines is taught through an integrated and structured approach that includes work on live projects, curated reading, online coursework, informational interviews, learning workshops, structured mentoring, and an Individualized Performance Improvement Plan (“IPIP”). 

·        The IPIP serves as a cornerstone of the program and deliberately integrates planning, goal setting, execution, self-reflection, analysis, and mentoring to systematically enhance each participants’ strengths and eliminate their weaknesses.

·        Each Associate will complete a supervised Capstone Research Project that will span the length of the program and be focused on at least one of the three learning disciplines (Innovation, Investing, Marketing).

·        In addition to the Capstone, Associates will produce weekly deliverables, some of which will contribute to forming a demonstrated “Work Portfolio” for Associates to keep and use to facilitate their career advancement.

·        Core skills to be developed and applied throughout the program include: 1) Goal setting; 2) Organization 3) Self-Learning; 4) Research Processes; 5) Communication & Presentation.


SPECIFICS: A.R.I. CAREER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM

·        Application Deadline: Friday, June 7th, 2019 (applications will be considered on a rolling basis).

·        Start/End Dates: Flexible depending on Associate’s schedule. Preference is for a mid-June start with a program duration of 10 weeks.

·        Workload: Able to dedicate at least 40 hours per week.

·        Location: Associates may work remotely although preference is for candidates who are physically-based in Los Angeles, CA where A.R.I. is headquartered.

·        Academic Credit: Academic course credit, determined on a school-by-school basis, is available for A.R.I. CAP participants.

·        Compensation: A.R.I. CAP Associates will not be paid for participating in the program and there is no guarantee of employment at the conclusion of the program.

·        Sponsorship: Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


ROLE DESCRIPTION: SUMMER MARKETING ASSOCIATE

·        The A.R.I. CAP Summer Marketing Associate will work directly with A.R.I.’s Founder and CEO, shaping marketing and brand strategy while developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns for A.R.I.’s two primary business lines (venture capital and consulting).

·        Identify areas of opportunity for marketing, branding, and partnership building.

·        Determine what attracts our customers (and prospects) and how we can continuously deliver an exceptional customer experience.

·        Identify and assess marketing KPIs.

·        Leverage consumer insights to create a cohesive (i.e. website, SEO/SEM, social, display, and email) digital marketing campaign strategy.

·        Design, build, and maintain our social media presence (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

·        Evaluate emerging digital applications and technologies and provide perspective for adoption where appropriate.

“NICE TO HAVE” ATTRIBUTES (SUMMER MARKETING ASSOCIATE)

·        Knowledge of digital marketing tools and digital performance marketing KPIs (CPA, CPM, etc.).

·        Interest in identifying and applying novel approaches to brand building.

·        The ability to design, build, and maintain websites.

·        Strong graphic design skills and the ability to create and edit PowerPoint presentations.

·        Educational training or demonstrated work experience in Marketing, Digital Business, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Arts/Media is preferred.
