The School of Communication invites qualified applicants to consider an adjunct instructor to teach digital design as a part of its Digital Media and Storytelling graduate curriculum. The Digital Media and Storytelling Program curriculum supersedes industry standards and embraces advances in the field. Our state-of-the-facilities bring students up-to-date with all the changes so they are able to produce and deliver results immediately upon joining their employer in the digital media world.

The course will focus on digital design with specific emphasis on the creation, refinement, and publishing (print and digital) of a single visual story. Along the way, students will address the following topic areas: theories of visual and image-based storytelling, creating visual stories from images, photo enhancement and manipulation, graphic design (layout of text and image) for on-demand print publishing, and contemporary web design options for visual storytelling and promotion.

Through analyzing websites, they will learn to identify purpose and audience to use design principles to emphasize purpose and audience. Students will also learn about the phases of web production and about publishing web projects.

Industry experience and college-level teaching experience preferred.
Candidate should be proficient in the Adobe Creative Cloud and related software applications in both PC and Mac.
Adobe Certification preferred.

Master's degree in graphic design or related field with 4,000 hours of work experience in the field.
OR Master's degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication/Digital Media.
