Environmental Engineer III

Job Duties:
 Develop and maintain a working knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations,
and policies, technical and engineering principles, and practices applicable to assigned
projects and areas of expertise.
 Manage highly complex technical and regulatory reviews related to hazardous waste
permitting, engineering, groundwater, and corrective action activities. Assist in
preparation and review of hazardous waste facility permits, and corrective action orders.
 Coordinate and provide guidance\consultation on all projects, activities and tasks, as
necessary and appropriate, with internal and external stakeholders including executive
staff, regulated facilities, and facility consultants.
 Complete projects, assignments and tasks within established timeframes in
conformance with the technical requirements of applicable laws, regulations, policies,
procedures, and guidance.
 Assist in advising/mentoring Engineering Section staff in areas of expertise including
environmental permitting, engineering, geology and hydrogeology and proactively offer
training\assistance to others on their projects or seek new projects as time and
resources allow.
    Work with supervisor and project team on assigned projects to issue
document review comments/approvals, resolve problems and answer questions related
to the interpretation/application of Missouri's hazardous waste laws, regulations,
guidance and associated engineering, and geologic principles and practices.
 Provide assistance to the Operating Facilities Unit Chief and/or Engineering Section
Chief as requested including performing the Unit Chief’s duties on an as needed basis.
Provide timely input, as requested by management, on program, division and
departmental budget and planning documents.
