Would you like to be part of a team charged with protecting human health and the environment? The Department of Pesticide Regulation's (DPR) Enforcement Branch is recruiting an Environmental Scientist in the Central Regional Office (CRO), located in Clovis.

The Environmental Scientist will perform professional scientific analyses and fieldwork associated with appropriate use of pesticides; apply scientific methods and principles to identify, research, analyze, and develop science-based solutions for compliance with complex regulatory pesticide issues; provide oversight of enforcement activities to maintain statewide uniformity; generate, analyze and evaluate scientific data for regulatory compliance with human health and environmental requirements to ensure protection of human health, non-target organisms, food safety, surface/ground water, wildlife, and air quality.

Salary range: $3,851.00 - $7,364.00 per month


Working Conditions:
The incumbent will work in a single floor building, under artificial lighting; and sit for moderate periods of time. The collection of samples as indicated for these positions requires the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds, bend, squat, and climb over boxes, containers, or pallets; travel by automobile or air may be required to different areas of the State. There is field work performed requiring the ability to maneuver over uneven ground and work in outdoor conditions. Occasional statewide travel is required. Occasional irregular work schedules may be required. Travel may include overnight stays several days each month.
