Digital Humanities Internship

THE OPPORTUNITY
 
Are you a student looking for an internship in the social sciences or humanities? Come work for the Disabled Rights Action Committee and help us transition our archives into the 21st century. This is a virtual internship. We are looking for a well-organized and detail-oriented intern to help us transition our materials to a digital format, virtually interview disabled activists to identify names and dates on photos, organize digitized material, and upload archives to a new digital museum platform. This position is not paid, but offers flexible scheduling to accommodate a student schedule and other life commitments. We want this opportunity to be mutually beneficial, and we are open to customizing this position to allow an intern to develop experience in the areas they most need to be successful in their career of choice.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
·     Virtually interview disabled activists to identify names, dates, and places on photos and videos
·     Organize digitized material
·     Ensure consistent file structure and naming conventions
·     Upload photo, video, and document archives to our new digital museum
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
·     College-level student pursuing a degree in the humanities or social sciences
·     Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
·     Strong written and verbal communication skills
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
 
·     Able to commit to 12 hours per week for a three-month period
