HR Communications Manager

The Department of Human Resources (DOHR) is seeking to fill the position of HR Communications Manager. The position is located in Nashville, Tennessee in the department’s Communications Division under the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
The HR Communications Manager works with the CSO to effectively deliver internal communications to 42,000+ state employees and external recruitment marketing messaging to attract top talent in pursuing a career at the State of Tennessee. The position is responsible for maintaining a robust online, email, and social media presence by generating and managing content for all DOHR communications channels, including internal and external websites, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, employee newsletters, blogs, and podcasts. In addition to these primary duties, the HR Communications Manager provides project management, legislative, and operational support to the CSO. The position has a critical role in executing strategic HR communications and employer branding, as well as enhancing employees' organizational knowledge to increase engagement and drive greater results.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Chief Strategy Officer in developing employee engagement and recruitment marketing content for a variety of communications channels including department websites, email, blogs, and social media.
  • Drafts content for internal communications to state employees and external communications to applicants, including press releases and graphic design for related projects.
  • Maintains the state’s internal website and drafts a quarterly TeamTN Update newsletter that features organizational news and information for distribution to all state employees.
  • Supports daily operations by responding to email inquiries, maintaining messaging calendars, and representing the department at internal meetings.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Communications or related field.
Education:
Undergraduate degree is required, Master's degree is a plus
