Student Volunteer Intern – Office of Corporate Executive Management (Summer 2020)

This internship is in partnership with the U.S Department of Energy (DOE) and ABPA.

Overview:
The mission of the Energy Department is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.

The U.S. Department of Energy is planning to have student volunteer opportunities open for HR and Business majors, within our Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (Human Capital). Our Student Volunteer program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with meaningful opportunities to explore Federal service while in school. The Internship provides manager's a ready source of student employees and potential permanent employees upon completion of the program requirements. 

Students selected from this announcement will be assigned to the Office of Corporate Executive Management in the Headquarters Office of the Department of Energy in Washington, DC. They will perform a wide variety of duties in the recruitment, performance management, employee onboarding, and leadership development fields and help meet DOE's mission and the student's learning objectives.

As an OCEM Student Volunteer, you will:
  • Utilize Microsoft Office skills to design, analyze and create documents and/or presentations to support programs
  • Review standard forms, reports and/or other documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Research program needs and prepare documents for various projects
  • Participate in special projects, as needed
  • Provide administrative support and coordination assistance to Senior Executive Service and Senior Professional recruitment, performance and development efforts
  • Provide support to OCEM workgroups to research and/or create new or update existing information on the organization intranet (HCnet)
  • Support the delivery of onboarding and trainings for Senior Executives within the agency
