Visual Media Production Assistant

This position is located in Idaho Falls, Idaho and does not have the option to telecommute.

Chris Loves Julia is a Home Design and DIY Brand functioning at a high level across several media channels. We create and share home-related, web-based content nearly every day of the week on one or more of the following: YouTube, Instagram (posts, stories, IGTV), Facebook, Pinterest, and our website (chrislovesjulia.com). In order to continue our growth we need to bring on an in-house Visual Media Production Assistant to assist in the creation of all digital media assets. This person should be well-versed in the following:
Photography
• must understand photo editing and optimization for web
• must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
• must be able to comply with Chris Loves Julia style guidelines
• examples of interior photography are a plus
Videography
• must but proficient in video editing for various platforms, as well as optimization for web formats
• should be active in the conceptualization of video content to be created
• must be passionate about the capturing and telling of a story
• though this person doesn’t need to be a graphic designer, a strong design sense and an eye for color and ability to conceptualize ideas is required
Skills/Experience/Background Helpful, But Not Required:
• Communications degree
• Videography - filming with a DSLR
• Drone use
• Interior/Fashion Photography
• Studio Lighting
• Graphic Design
Other traits we’d like to see in this candidate include:
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and also gladly accept direction and critique
• Strong work ethic
• Desire to do amazing work, not just complete a task
• Ability to manage own time and meet deadlines (even if it means staying late sometimes)
• Team player. Needs to jump in when needed - no saying “that’s not my job”
• Quick learner. You will learn a lot of media production skills.
• High social media IQ
Experience is less important to us than work ethic, though we do want to see examples of work that’s been done. We want our employees to be creators, and to feel an ownership in every project they are a part of.
