DFPM-Administration Community Health Worker AHEC (PS) PRN10695N

The UT AHEC Program Office will therefore engage CHWs to teach UT AHEC Scholars and practicing clinicians to provide culturally sensitive, high quality telehealth care for members of underserved urban and rural communities. We will do this in close coordination with our three Centers: Southern Utah AHEC (SUAHEC), Crossroads Utah AHEC (CRAHEC), and Northern Utah AHEC (NUAHEC). Each Center will adapt and extend curricula for students and clinicians as appropriate for specific needs of their region of the state, as well as collaborate with the Program Office and each other to develop resources useful across the entire state.

This position is considered Category IIA: Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID-19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID-19 Telecommuting Agreement.

Responsibilities
1- You will be assisting the Utah AHEC Program Office in the development of educational training services that focus on cultural humility and proficiency aspects specific to the following populations: Latinos, American Indian, Pacific Islander, Refugee and African American Populations.
2- You will be assisting with cultural humility training that intersects with elder and rural populations, as these have also been determined to be at high risk in Utah.
3- You will assist the Utah AHEC program in curating Telehealth training materials and training activities on COVID19 and other infectious diseases.
4- You will be involved in the development of modules/simulations with e-instruction guides, to teach Utah AHEC Scholars and practicing clinicians culturally proficient, high quality telehealth care for members of underserved urban and rural communities. 
5- You will be asked to assist in the implementation and training of the Utah AHEC Scholars, utilizing prepared modules/simulations materials, in times selected by Scholar availability. The target number of students to be reached is approximately 100-120
6- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma, or equivalent. Demonstrated relationship-building and effective communication skills.
