Location: The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights (Division) has an opening for two (2) Scientific Aids to support tasks in the Reporting and Data Management Unit. This unit is responsible for all aspects of the administration of the electronic water rights information system database (eWRIMS) and Report Management System (RMS) including database contract management, quality assurance and quality control, system maintenance and enhancements, and generation of a variety of reports. The position headquarters is 1001 I Street, 14th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. The Scientific Aid may be assigned to temporarily telework through at least June 30, 2021.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Equivalent to completion of two years of college with a minimum of 10 semester hours in relevant scientific course work, i.e., pest management, environmental studies, entomology, or agricultural sciences.

Assist in reviewing and analyzing scientific data collected from water use reports. Analyze and identify areas with low reporting compliance or other issues with data accuracy or data collection processes. Identify areas of improvement for data collection processes, analyze alternatives, and make recommendations to management.
Assist with the updating of information posted on the Division of Water Rights program webpages. Review webpages and make recommendations to staff for updates of posted information to better convey program information to the public.
