Caregiver for Endearing, Quirky Woman (SE Portland)

Are you looking for a meaningful caregiving job? If so, UCP Oregon might have the perfect position for you!

UCP Oregon is an exciting and empowering place to work. We help adults who experience developmental disabilities to live the life of their dreams—whether that’s living independently, working in a great job, or pursuing their interests and hobbies.

We are currently seeking a full-time caregiver “Personal Assistant” who will support a woman that experiences developmental and physical disabilities. She is an independent, charming, and quirky lady that lives in her own apartment in SE Portland.

You will plan and participate in a couple community activities each weekend, whether that’s visiting a comic book store or going to the park for a picnic. You will help her manage health care needs, including administering all medications and ensuring that she receives timely care for illness or injury. You will prepare all of her meals, including monitoring her portions and carbohydrate intake, perform household chores, and provide personal assistance as she dresses and bathes. You will also provide emotional supports for some challenging behaviors.

You'll work two shifts per week totaling 40 hours: 8am to 8pm on Friday (12-hour shift) and 12pm on Sunday through 4pm on Monday (28-hour shift). *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.
