Team Overview
The Student Engagement team—as part of the Eccles School's division of Student Affairs & Inclusion—focuses on supporting the experience of Eccles students through a number of student involvement and student success programs. Specifically, this team works on inclusion & belonging initiatives, student government (BLinc), student organizations, business tutoring, and new student orientation with a focus on fostering a culture of student belonging and opportunities for students to thrive. Student Engagement works closely with the other Student Affairs & Inclusion functions as well as departments throughout the Eccles School to align and support Eccles students' access to impactful resources and opportunities.

Position Overview
The Student Coordinator for Student Involvement is responsible for supporting the Eccles student experience by connecting students with involvement & leadership opportunities, coordinating resources & support for student leaders, and more. In particular, this position works closely with the 25+ Eccles School student organizations to amplify student organizations' success. The Student Coordinator will be supervised by and work closely with the Associate Director for Student Engagement. This position is expected to work an average of 15 hours per week and will be compensated at $14/hr.

Responsibilities
Eccles School student organizations
● Manage regular communication with Eccles School student organization officers
● Coordinate and execute semesterly tabling fairs (Party on the Plaza and Spring into Business) for Eccles School student organizations, offices, and programs
● Support student organization officers with programming needs, including space booking, purchasing, and more
● Coordinate various student organization processes, including new student organization creation, Eccles School recognition requirements, employer connection requests, funding allocations, and more
● Collect regular information from student organization officers, including recognition agreements, officer contact information, "about us" blog posts, student participation data, and more
● Maintain Student Organization Officer Canvas page and Eccles School student organizations webpage
● Oversee Club Closet storage space for student organizations
● Support the end-of-year Student Leadership Awards, which include several awards for exceptional student organizations
● Identify and work to address areas of opportunity/improvement for Eccles School student organization support, processes, requirements, etc.

Student Engagement team
● Attend and contribute to regular staff meetings
● Attend and contribute to regular 1:1 meetings with supervisor
● Collaborate with and support other members of the Student Engagement team
● Maintain professional relationships with team members, other Eccles School faculty, staff, and student leaders, and other stakeholders
● Complete other tasks or projects as needed in support of the Student Engagement team, Student Affairs & Inclusion division, Eccles School, etc.
● As need and capacity allows, there may also be opportunities to take on "special interest projects" as part of the Student Coordinator role What We’re Looking For
● Commitment to supporting Eccles School student involvement
● Knowledge of, experience with, and/or interest in Eccles School student organizations
● Project management skills and/or experience
● Time management skills
● Communication skills, including via email
● Ability to work in a team and independently, including taking proactive responsibility for individual tasks & projects
● Dedication to fostering a culture of belonging at the Eccles School
● Commitment to principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
● Ability to meet the following time commitments:
○ 2-3 hours per week for paid onboarding in February 2023 (exact dates flexible)
○ 5-8 hours per week for paid training in March and April 2023 (exact dates flexible)
○ Attend Student Engagement team overnight retreat in March or April 2023 (exact dates TBD; likely a Friday-Saturday)
○ Hold the position during Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024, with opportunity for extension of employment if job duties are met.
○ Be available to work an average of 15 hours per week. On average, 8-10 of these hours each week would be in-person, which will vary week-to-week. All other hours able to be remote or in-person.
○ Maintain full-time enrollment at the University of Utah and enroll in no more than 18 credits without prior supervisor approval.
