The State Water Resources Control Board’s Executive Office has an opening for a Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) to serve as the official “Clerk to the Board” and assume related administrative functions.

The position is located at 1001 I Street, 24th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations, other public transportation, a plethora of restaurants and more.

Under the direction of the CEA, Chief Deputy Director, and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. The incumbent functions as a non-supervisory specialist and is responsible for researching, analyzing, recommending, and implementing solutions for a wide variety of sensitive and complex policy, program, administrative, and organizational issues. As Clerk to the Board, the incumbent is responsible for the administrative planning and logistics of State Water Board meetings, certification and dissemination of State Water Board resolutions and orders, and generally serves as a subject matter expert and principal advisor to the Board Members and executive management on board administrative process and planning.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
