**Currently, this position operates under a hybrid telework plan of three days in the office and two days of telework. The initial training period for this position will require the candidate to work 100% in the office.**

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Administration Services has an opening for an Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) in the Accounting Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 18 Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations, other public transportation, awesome restaurants, and more.

Duties:
Research, develop, and prepare procedures for accounting functions and processes. This includes preparing guidance that staff can follow to perform daily tasks and report, testing new and updated procedures, evaluating the impact of proposed process to business processes, and leading sessions to train other staff in the Accounting Branch on new and updated procedures and processes.
 
Ensure non-accounting customers have a working knowledge of accounting procedures and processes. This includes performing outreach and working with staff in a wide range of Water Boards program to explain accounting procedures and processes for customer use, such as allocations, year-end, appropriations, management reports, and expenditures. Prepare and lead sessions to train non-accounting customers on accounting processes and the responsibilities, as a customer, to ensure timely completion of the procedure.
 
Analyze the information and reports available in FI$Cal, including unmet reporting needs. This may include Fi$Cal reports for program management, financial reporting, and control agency needs. Test new reports to ensure data accuracy and that the reports meet Water Boards needs. Review accounting reports and train other staff in the Accounting Branch on FI$Cal reporting procedures and best practices.
 
Serve as a key member of the internal control committee.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
