Center for Gifted Education - Media Specialist

Current Salary: $15.50 per hour

Desired hires: College students

Position Summary:

The Media Specialist works with the Center for Gifted Education as the summer documentarian for all

our programs. They will be responsible for developing a process for staff to share any pictures or videos

they have taken to include in social media posts or videos. They will manage the daily social media posts

for each program and develop an end of program for each camp.

Program Dates:

Camp Ignite: June 18-July 2, 2025

The Governor’s Summer Residential Program: June 22, 2025 – July 19, 2025

The Optimist Project: June 26 – July 9, 2025

Camp Launch: July 11 – 25, 2025

Camp Orbit: July 11-25, 2025

The Media Specialist will be available to work during whole months of June and July (20-40 hours per

week).

Daily Shifts: Hours will vary daily so you will be able to document all elements of the programs. will be 6 hours/day between 8am-9pm each day of the programs.

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Prior experience working as a photographer and video editor.

• Prior experience managing social media pages.

• Ability to capture the essence and energy of the programs.

JOB DUTIES

80% Documentation

• Photograph and record all aspects of the summer programs.

• Conduct interviews with staff and campers to include in the end of program video.

• Manage program social media pages.

• Ensure all eligible students are photographed and posted on the page multiple times during the

programs.

• Develop a system for staff to share photos/videos with you.

• Create end of camp video for each program to show at the closing ceremonies.

10% Communication

• Coordinate with staff so you can capture and unique/exciting group activities.• Communicate with Instructors to capture class activities.

10% Event Coordination

• Assist in planning and execution of special events documentation, including Camper Check-In,

Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and Focusing on the Future, with a focus on documentation.
