The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will support Rocky Mountain Public Media's Manager of Volunteer Services by assisting in the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers. This role provides hands-on experience in volunteer management, event coordination, and community outreach, making it ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in nonprofit management, public media, civic engagement, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process volunteer applications and conduct interviews with prospective volunteers.
Maintain volunteer scheduling and records in Volgistics.
Assist the Manager of Volunteer Services and Experience Producers in leading volunteers at events.
Support community engagement efforts for volunteer recruitment.
Update and manage the Volunteer Opportunities Directory.
Draft and distribute volunteer engagement messages.
Represent RMPM at events and engage with the public about volunteer opportunities.
Communicate specific volunteer needs with RMPM brand leaders.
Track and update volunteer participation and experiences in the Impact Tracker.
Ensure volunteers receive all necessary event details and logistical information.
Actively participate in RMPM's Core Values
Other tasks as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications of Position
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be currently enrolled in, or have recently completed, a program at an accredited college, university, or technical school. If not currently enrolled, applicants must submit a cover letter stating their interest and how this internship aligns with their career path.
A mix of demonstrated skills, abilities, and knowledge will be considered in place of education requirements.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with individuals at all levels.
Excellent time management, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable MVR; must be insurable for driving station vehicles.

Work Environment
This position primarily works in office, studio, event, and community engagement environments. The intern must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
