Electrical Engineer II
Apply Engineering principles to design, validate and integrate electrical systems and components used in school and commercial bus applications that set the industry benchmark for safety, performance, reliability, and cost.
What You Drive at DTNA:
- Design school bus electrical systems by applying electrical engineering techniques and principals.
- Develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials.
- Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances to develop low-cost alternatives to current production systems.
- Provide support for production, warranty reduction and field service corrective actions with reliable, serviceable, low-cost solutions.
- Foster strong internal relationships with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments.
- Interface with Test Group personnel to prototype new systems, perform development testing and apply test results to new designs.
- Ensure projects are cost-effective, functional, and friendly to down-stream departments, and compliant with all applicable regulations.
- Effectively communicate information to design teams and other departments.
Knowledge You Should Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience
- 3+ years Product development experience required
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- General familiarity of automotive electrical designs
- Prior experience with 3D CAD software
- An attached resume is required
Exceptional Candidates Might Have:
- Prior automotive design experience
- Experience with CAN communication network protocols
- Prior experience with PLM software developing B.O.M
