The people are very nice and open to helping new hires all the time. I have gotten great advice from my mentor and upper management on how to deal with difficult situations in my job. I am given the responsibilities of an engineer and not a data entry job.

Do not be afraid to put yourself out there. Although I was much younger than many of my peers at the site, I had a lot to bring to the table. They taught me a lot, but I taught them a lot as well.

The pay is really good for an hourly entry level job and I could work towards earning paid time off as a part time employee, which I can now use.

There is lack of training for new employees and it can be discouraging at times.

Definitely work while going to school. It will save you money and make you a stronger person.

I like how the job was challenging but also pretty simple. It taught me how to love at an efficient speed to keep up with how fast the packages were coming. The job was fun and it taught me a lot of fast efficient work skills.
What I wish was different
I wish there would have been air conditioning in the warehouse because it was extremely hot and sometimes it slowed me down.
Advice
Be ready to work extremely hard working at Fedex Ground. I wish I could’ve worked there during school but I knew my course load would’ve been too heavy to juggle.

I would have liked to try out some different tasks within the company, but these are only offered to people who have worked their for a significant period of time.
Advice
Fedex is always hiring, doesn't require experience, has good pay, and will often accept people for short periods of time, making it an ideal summer job or temporary day-job. They also offer night shifts.

I like how FedEx was able to offer me a schedule in which I work weekends only for 8hrs. This is great because it gives me room to focus in school and take classes without having to change my work schedule either.
What I wish was different
I do wish that I was better trained when I first started.
Advice
I suggest anyone in school who's 18+ and wishes to work part time just to earn money or experience through work, that they should apply to FedEx and work on the weekends. FedEx also has a tuition back in which they will pay you back a certain amount for school courses or materials.
